This Pear Apple Crisp combines two of the best fall fruits into one delicious recipe!
Fall is definitely the season for everything dessert related! Pies, Cakes, brownies, cake bars… all of that. I’m excited to share this delicious Pear Apple Crisp recipe with y’all. It’s very, very easy to make and It gives you all the fall feels in a bowl topped with a creamy scoop of ice cream. And if you’re feeling super fancy you can add some caramel on top!
QUICK TIP
- If you’re in a hurry or just want to get ahead of the game, this recipe can easily be prepared ahead of time. Once you make the topping you can add it on top of the apple/ pear mixture and place in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake. Now how’s that for easy!
- Be sure to peel your pears for this recipe. If you don’t, you’ll be left with a weird chewy texture because the skin won’t break down and soften completely.
CAN I USE CANNED PEARS AND APPLES?
I don’t recommend it because canned fruits are usually already soft which would make the crisp kinda soggy.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CRISP AND STREUSEL?
The main difference between a crisp and streusel all comes down to the topping and how it’s made. A dessert that’s made with a crisp usually includes a crunchy topping that’s often made with flour, sugar, butter, and oats.A Streusel topping is pretty similar except made with flour, sugar and butter. However, it doesn’t usually include oats.
