Easy Homemade Toffee

This Easy Homemade Toffee recipe tastes amazing and is so addicting! This is the perfect Christmas candy treat.

  • 2 Cups Butter
  • 2 Cups White sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 Cup Chopped almonds
  • Nonstick cooking spray


  • Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Spray with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter then add in sugar. Whisk constantly and bring to a steady (not rolling) boil over medium heat, and cook until the toffee is the color of peanut butter, for about 10 minutes or so.
  • Remove toffee from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. 
  • Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top, and let chocolate soften for a few minutes. Spread the chocolate into a thin even layer. Sprinkle with chopped almonds.
  • Refrigerate until set. Break into pieces, and store in an airtight container in the fridge. Enjoy!
